170128_0243_EOS M5 Construction of the New Tappan Zee Bridge at Dawn Seen from George's Island
The first bridge of this $3.9 billion 3 mile project will open in Summer 2017. The second bridge along side it will be completed in 2018 after the old bridge, behind it in the image, is taken down. The bridge is 8 miles down river from George's Island, brought closer by the long telephoto lens.
