160427_1229_NX1 Nova, a Female Barred Owl at Teatown's Wildlife Rescue
All the flight feathers on Nova's left wing were broken in 2010 and new feathers molted in brittle and broke. Her irreversible condition, either congenital or caused by a trauma, left her unable to fly or hunt in the wild.
