150905_0796_NX1 Green Heron at Swan Lake
I didn't have a long enough lens with me to capture this beautiful green heron from afar, so I had to quietly approach it from behind the greenery along the shore. It wasn't happy about that and kept walking further away. I stopped and just stood in the muck for about 10 to 15 minutes so it could feel comfortable with me. Luckily, it slowly approached me again as it searched the water for a late day meal. And had its portrait taken while doing so.
