150402_2778_SX50 Newborn Calf at Hudson Pines Farm
The farmhands had just filled the feeders below the rise and the cattle were slowly making their way down through the rocks. This young bull, only a couple of days old, figured he should follow them. I watched him keep walking back and forth, testing his footing between the different rocks. He would take a few steps down each narrow pass, stop, and then retreat back up. After failing at this last pass, he paused to give it one last frustrated look. This was the image I was looking for. The young bull then turned and headed back to his mother behind him. I'm sure that was going to be a better meal anyway.
