The Lower Hudson Valley from Bear Mountain, NY on September 4 and October 24, 2013

Being pleased with how the Summer panorama turned out, I headed back up the mountain seven weeks later to capture the colors of Autumn. Both images were created at the same focal length on the same camera, tripod mounted on a shelf on the side of the mountain. A misstep a foot or two in front of me and it was a long way down. Each image is comprised of seven individual photos stitched together in software with the original panorama being about 8 feet across. For the Autumn image to exactly match the one from Summer required following the copious notes I made that first day to again recompose each of the seven photos. Identical steps were also necessary in the stitching. But a big help was that I remembered exactly what large boulder I had set the tripod up in front of.
